The fully equipped Z8 features a power soft top, removable hardtop, an internal "skeleton" structure made largely of alumimum, a 4.9-liter V8 from BMW's high-performance M5 sedan, and mandatory 6-speed manual transmission. Also standard are side airbags, antilock 4-wheel disc brakes, 18-inch wheels, run-flat tires with pressure-warning system, BMW's Cornering Brake Control and antiskid systems, and a navigation system with audio prompts but no video-type dashboard display.
