The Maxima is meant to be a near luxury midsize sedan with ample power (all have V6s), room, and handling, all at a reasonable price. The Maxima offers more power (32 more horsepower), more interior room (2.7 cubic foot gain overall, which translates to back seats that are quite usable even for 6 footers when the front seat is all the way back), better ergonomics (totally new interior, and check out those new gauge lights at night!), a quieter, smoother ride (30% better torsional rigidity), and with a 1 mile per gallon decrease in mileage (the engine now meets Low-Emission Vehicle standards and weighs 175 pounds more!)
